About the Wildlife Veterinary Section Travel Award for Professionals from Economically Challenged Countries

This annual award is to be given to an accepted presenter to the annual international meeting of the Wildlife Disease Association that meets the following criteria: the presenter is not eligible for one of the student awards, the topic of the presentation relates the principles of veterinary medicine and wildlife conservation or disease management, and is from one of the countries rated by the World Bank as middle, middle-low, or low income. The award will be granted on the basis of the quality of the abstract, and demonstration of need (as determined from an application). In the future the award will be announced at the meeting but provided to the winner before the meeting so that it truly is an award in support of travel.
