WDA Standing Committees & Chairs

 The following list contains brief information about the WDA Committees. If you are interested in any of the committees please follow the link of the committee chair to their email address. 

Auction Committee
Brett Elkin, Chair

The Auction Committee assists local conference organizing committees by providing experience in management of past auctions.

Awards Committee:
Terry Creekmore, Chair 

The Awards Committee receives and advises Council on the nominations for the Association’s major service award, the Distinguished Service Award, and also for the Emeritus Award. The committee assists in the procurement of additional service acknowledgements as requested by the president.

Budget and Audit Committee:
Laurie Baeten, Chair

The purpose of the Budget and Audit Committee is to ensure fiscal responsibility and soundness of the Association. It is chaired by the WDA treasurer and provides advice to the treasurer and Council on financial matters.

Carlton Herman Fund Trustees
Anne Fairbrother, Chair

The trustees of the Carlton Herman Founder’s Fund establish the activities to be supported by the Fund and advise Council.

Endowment and New Funds Committee
Tom Yuill and Billy Karesh, Co-chairs

          The Endowment and New Funds Committee seeks financial support for the long term sustainability of the Association realizing its mission.

Executive Manager Review Committee
Scott Wright, Chair

The executive manager reports to the President and other Officers of Council. The Executive Manager Review Committee assists the executive manager with discussion of duties, procurement of resources, priorities and progress.

Information Committee
Mark Drew, Chair

The Information Committee compiles and disseminates news of particular interest to the members of the WDA and others interested in health of wildlife.

International Committee
Elena Garde and Ignasi Marco Co-Chairs

The International Committee considers international matters including advising the membership on formation of sections, providing guidelines for prospective groups relating to WDA Sections and receiving applications for section status.

Long Term Vision Committee
Anne Fairbrother, Chair

The Long term Vision Committee reports to Council on their evaluation of the Association and factors affecting it in a broad context and longer term temporal scale.

Membership and Promotions Committee
Shelli Dubay, Chair

The Membership Committee works to obtain new members and retain present memberships including library subscriptions.

Nominations Committee
Scott Wright, Chair

The Nominations Committee receives nominations from members and selects additional candidates to run for office and fill vacancies on the WDA Council.

Public Awareness Committee
John Fischer, Chair

The Public Awareness Committee receives proposals and actively pursues topics for resolutions on matters pertinent to the scope of the WDA. The Committee provides their advice to the WDA Council.
           
Student Activities Committee
Terra Kelly, Chair

The Student Activities Committee represents student members of the WDA. It aims to help students get the most out of their wildlife health and disease training.

Student Awards Committee
Kevin Keel, Chair

The Student Awards Committee coordinates all activities related to the student awards of WDA.

Teller Committee
Pauline Nol, Chair

The Teller Committee prepares the ballot for elections and receives and counts ballots.

Time and Place Committee
Lynn Creekmore, Chair

The Time and Place Committee identifies potential sites and scheduling for annual conferences and prese nt these to Council for consideration.

Tom Thorne and Beth Williams Memorial Award Committee

The committee is a joint committee of members of the WDA and the American Association of Wildlife Veterinarians. The committee selects candidates for the Thorne – Williams Memorial Award and provides their recommendations to the executives of the two Associations.
